The variety and grade of unsaturated polyester resin is Quito. In terms of product performance, the following types are used as the matrix of the composite material.
1. General purpose resin. The general-purpose resins are mainly o-phthalic unsaturated polyester resins, and also include some iso-phthalic unsaturated polyester resins, which are mostly used for hand lay-up of glass fiber reinforced plastic products.
2. Heat-resistant resin. Unsaturated polyester resins are required to be used at high temperatures, and general-purpose resins with lower heat distortion temperatures are not suitable. The heat distortion temperature of the heat-resistant resin should not be less than 110°C, and it has a high strength retention rate at higher temperatures.
3. Chemical-resistant resin. This type of resin has excellent corrosion resistance and water resistance. The commercial resins mainly include bisphenol A unsaturated polyester resin, vinyl resin, isophthalic unsaturated polyester resin and halogenated polyester resin.
4. Flame retardant resin. The flame retardant resin is synthesized by using a component that can produce flame retardant (self-extinguishing), such as tetrabromophthalic anhydride and chlorinic anhydride (HET anhydride) to replace the phthalic anhydride-substituted synthetic resin.
5. Weather-resistant resin. This type of resin uses neopentyl glycol and methacrylate type cross-linking monomers, and adds ultraviolet light absorbers to improve the weather resistance and light stability of the resin. The resin has good transparency, and the refractive index of the durable resin casting can be similar to or consistent with the refractive index of the glass fiber.
6. High-strength resin. These resins have high strength and toughness and are mainly used in composites made by the filament winding process.
7. Gel coat resin. Gel coats for composite materials to improve product appearance (beauty), quality and longevity. According to the requirements of use, gel coat resins are mainly divided into the following categories: ① General purpose gel coat: resistant to boiling water, friction, soap or detergent corrosion, with good surface gloss; ② Chemical corrosion resistant gel coat: used for resistance to Corrosion product surface; ③ light-stable gel coat: has excellent weather resistance; ④ gel coat for food containers.
8. Special resin for SMC or BMC. This type of resin has: ① low viscosity; ② fast thickening; ③ high activity; fast curing; ④ stable performance during the storage period of several months after adding initiator and thickener, and can be quickly cured when tried.
9. Other types of resins. This is a new variety in recent years, such as injection, RTM, pultrusion and other special resins for molding processes.
